Golftips Online, for a Better Golf Game!

Hi and thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll find this Golf Tips site helpful to your game and also informative. The aim here is to impart some of the things I've learned and also to have a little bit of fun; after all, what's a game of Golf if you can't have a laugh along the way!!

A little about me.
My name is Steve and I'm NOT a Pro Golfer. I currently play off a 10 handicap but I love this crazy game. I'm married and have four children. I'd never even thought about playing Golf until I actually had a go and I was hooked. I've always played sports from school age, football and cricket especially so I've always had an eye for a ball. But nothing prepared me for the thrill of trying to hit a golf ball as far as you can and as straight as you can!! By the way I’m also the author of the world’s best selling Pamphlet; ‘How to concentrate on you 5th Putt!!’

When I first started out I had all the usual problems; slice, topping, fat shots, thin shots even the dreaded Sh~#k!! So after months of frustration and club bending, I decided to go see my local Pro. I had a few lessons, read some books and within 3 months my handicap was down from 24 to 14!! I was pretty impressed. (It’s amazing but however bad your round, you always play at least one shot that’ll get you going back next week!!) I thanked John (the Pro) for his patience and understanding and left him still trembling in a corner with his Valium!!

My only claim to any kind of fame is my Hole in One. Yes, I’m a member of that Elite Club of Acers. Briefly this is how it went......

Second Hole, Par 3. Two Tier elevated green and pin on the back tier. Distance 124 yards. Club selection; 9 iron. Struck the ball well and set off to look for it. Checked over the back, long grass etc.. when my playing partner looked in the hole and there it was. Shame I never saw it go in!! I felt good for two reasons that day, firstly for the hole in one but also because it made me totally forget I’d hit 5 off the Tee on the first and it was Captain’s Day!!
